First I did a Google Image search on "El Mariachi statue", with no good results, unless you're a fan of Antonio Banderas.<br /><br />Next I tried "El Mariachi Restaurant". A couple of pages in I saw another picture of your guy. There was a link to somebody's Flickr page about restaurant pictures, in which he mentioned the name and location of the eatery (I believe it was something to the effect of Mama Tessa's Taqueria). That website contained their logo, which matched the partially fuzzed-out ones from your pic. <br /><br />So, a little pluck, and mostly a lot of luck brought me the answer I so desperately sought.<br /><br />I suspect a similar method must have brought you the answer to the Truckee, CA <i> Where's Rimpy? </i> But I also figured - since you seem to have lived and/or traveled <i> everywhere </i> - that you would simply recognize it. Either way, I didn't want to make it too hard by fuzzing out the signs in Truckee.
