Long Time No Blog

SHE LIKES WHAT?
Friday night we went to the Market Square. It was The Warden’s sister’s birthday, so eight of us met at the Mariachi Bar at Mi Tierra Café for a few cocktails.

I finally found a bartender that can make a fucking Manhattan! They were delicious, but at $6.75 a shot, I only had three. I followed that with a couple of ice cold cans of Tecate. Even had a shot of tequila just because.

At one point, we were talking about a restaurant/bar on the River Walk called Dick’s Last Resort. When it was Sandra’s (a longtime friend) turn to relate something about the bar to everyone, she proudly declared (in a loud voice), “I love Dick’s.” After recovering from nearly showering the entire bar with the contents of my mouth, I offered her a golf clap and a hearty, “Bravo Sandra. Bravo!”

When we left, we stopped by the bakery next door and scored about $25 worth of goodies. It was a good evening.

Today we're going to put together some of the $1,500 worth of furniture I bought yesterday for The Girl and The Boy. Fortunately, The Warden’s going to help, because I have absolutely no patience with the hieroglyphical instructions that seem to be so popular these days.

RAIN, RAIN
As all three of my devoted readers may have heard, we’ve been getting one heapin’ helpin’ of rain here in the Republic of Texas. Yesterday there was none in San Antonio proper. I was shocked. It was around 92 degrees though, with 91% humidity – Not my favorite weather to be sure.

This morning I hear thunder in the distance as I write in my modest blog. The local weather radar shows storms moving into the area. We’ve received 34.43” of rain so far this year – That’s about two inches more than our annual rainfall average.

it rained here last week. I think for two or three days. That only surpasses our annual rainfall.
Im glad your friend Sandra finally admitted to everyone what everyone already knew.

Good luck with the furniture.

SO no Sandbags yet? Tea bagging?

If not the latter i think knicksgrl0917 might like some.

Send the rain to the square part on top. We could use it.

Why are men so opposed to reading instructions? I just don't get it.

Kudos to Sandra! That is funny!

Dogs really shouldn't be drinking Manhattans.

You ever notice that you guys are always doing something fun, or eating great food, or both?
Just a thought...
Don't ever buy furniture that comes with directions! I can't believe you did that. You are much braver than I.

Gator: Knicksgirl got the teabag….She’s hit my blogs before….bitch. ;-)

Sheila: Is the rain up there yet? We haven’t had any for two days now! Instructions are for girls, that’s why ;-)

WebMiz: I have a fine appreciation for women who love Dick’s. It is a funny place to visit. My wife used to work right next door to the one on the River Walk. We’d meet for lunch sometimes and laugh at the tourists who’d never been to a Dick’s before.

Woozie: What would you recommend? Mint Juleps? ;-)

Bunny~n~Early: I’ve noticed that, and I like it when I’m reminded of it. Thank you! Things could be so much worse. The furniture instructions were actually really good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yeah.
I love dicks as well.
All kinds.
Except little ones of course.
Bah.

I put together not one, but two dressers for Daisy last year.
All by myself.
Minus the directions.
Not because I wanted to, but because the directions were only in Spanish and French.
Apparently, I only speak 'stupid'.
The dressers, however, remain intact today;)
