Football

Why to professional athletes and coaches thank God after they win a game? Do they really think they're that important? Do they really think God prefers them over the other team(s)? Do they really think God factors football games into the Big Plan? Somehow I think not.

Thank someone else guys - Your dad, your coaches, your passion for the game. Leave religion out of it.

Aren't they usually thanking Him for the "god-given" talent they have that allows them to play? I guess that's why I always thought they did :)

I would disagree. Most People thank god after big events in their life. Not just Athletes. They are people too.

TC: I can't remember the last time someone did that. It seems lately everyone gives thanks for winning, which kinda bugs me. Nothing on a big scale - just kinda ;-)

Gator: That could bug me too, depending on the context used by "most people."

What's funny is to think that both opposing teams probably prayed for victory before the game, but apparently God favored one of them, or every game would be a tie.

See, they feel the need to put a plug in with the big man upstairs. We are all conditioned to think that if we don't mention God then, he will screw us over in the end. Sort of like getting your kudos in now.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have come to the realization that God does what he wants with me. He knew from the beginning of time that I would write this post. So it is pretty idiotic of me to even think that just because I mention him here that the outcome of my ever after is going to change.

I just try every day, to make it do what it do. He knows who I do it for and why.....
