Cooked a Mexican dinner last night. Made green and red enchiladas, some excellent Mexican rice and borracho beans. Didn't lift a finger to help clean up. That's just the way I roll. If I cook, I don't clean. Fair enough, right? :-)

I was thinking that it sure would be nice to know what happened to Madman, other than the fact that someone (probably DG) found him out. I've looked around for cached versions of Diary of a Madman to no avail. Maybe one day someone will post some details.

~Y~
I’m still not smoking and am doing well. It’s made me a little impatient and less apt to put up with bullshit, but I’m not dying for a smoke at all. I’m gonna try to make it last this time. My previous record is 7 months.
Mr. Pinky Finger is doing well, though it’s still pretty painful. I can type again now that I don’t have the gauze on it. I’ve found that the pinky finger is employed as a balancing digit when lifting, carrying and moving things. It’s also quite handy when using a knife to cut food and when opening stuff. Spinning the steering wheel of my car is a little more difficult with my right hand, but I’m ambidextrous so it’s just as easy to switch to my left hand.

Dubya Quote of the Day (Clear as Mud):
"Because the—all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those—changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be—or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the—like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate—the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those—if that growth is affected, it will help on the red." George W. Bush, Explaining his plan to save Social Security, Tampa, Fla., Feb. 4, 2005

Good luck with the not smoking!
I know a woman who just had surgery for an aneyrysm (sp?) -which was set on by her smoking -right after her surgery, she was screaming, "get me some smokes!"
It's a hard thing to beat, but man, if brain surgery isn't a wake up call, what is?
Thanks! Brain surgery...Yeah, that'll do it for sure, or so one would think. And she wanted a smoke right after surgery? That’s an amazing testament to the addictiveness of cigarettes & nicotine.
I have an old family friend (and lifelong smoker) who is fighting what is probably a losing battle with lung cancer. That's part of the reason I quit. There isn't a shortage of reasons for someone to quit though, that's for sure. Cigarettes really are evil; even more evil than big corporations and the oil industry :-)
Thanks for the show of support! I need all I can get.
