Lazy, Lazy Days

Don’t worry…this blog template won’t last long. I was just bored today and thought I’d get a little freaky...

Talk about a totally nonproductive day. The Warden was on one of her “take the kids and run all over hell for the entire day” binges. If it weren’t a hundred zillion degrees outside I might’ve gone outside to do something.

My buddy was down in Corpus Christi or I might’ve crashed his place and lounged around in the pool with an ice cold beer.

Instead, I played with my blog for a bit (can you go blind if you do that too much?), did a little writing, ripped some blues for Nay, and watched TV. Such a slug.

Memory Du Jour:
1968-1971, Southern California
Just general memories of roaming the grounds of UCLA with my sister on weekends while Mom was doing one thing or another in pursuit of her Master’s degree. There were large expanses of grass and plenty of things for young children to climb on. Don’t you miss the days when kids could roam around and play carefree without having to worry about being abducted, raped, murdered or just bothered? I sure do.

Here are some pictures I found on the wild, wild web. I'm pretty sure I remember these:

Quote of the Day:
South Park
Stan: Dude, dolphins are intelligent and friendly.
Cartman: Intelligent and friendly on rye bread with some mayonnaise.

Image Gallery du Jour:
Left-to-right, top to bottom:
The Girl (I love this picture)
Me in uniform around 1995
An old family friend in uniform 2003
Crazy nephew David at a store on the Riverwalk
The Girl again. She's growing up way too fast
Shit...how'd that "safari" picture get in there?!

Yes, the girl is growing up way too fast. Someday someone will post a "safari" picture of her if you're not careful.

The Outerspace theme works great. Now if only you can incorporate a interactive Mothership on the cursor that shoots missles by clicking. So we can disintegrate stuff found on your blog.

Of course, hitting refresh would set you back on track. But what a fun game to play. LOL! Just kidding with you. Enjoy your warden-free afternoon.

I think we are the same age!

Great pictures - I think The Girl favors the pic of your mom from the last post. She is really pretty!

Jules: Jules, Jules…Why oh why did you have to plant that in my brain!? Hopefully our parenting skills are sufficient to preclude her serving as prey in any twisted safaris until we’re too old to remember we even had kids ;-)

Margaret: I like the interactive mothership idea. I toyed with the idea of including a special mouse cursor (using dynamic HTML) but opted against it. I might give it a go now. Don’t think I can do any ray-gun stuff though because I don’t have as much flexibility here as I would on a site hosted on a web server.

Sheila: Well hot shit babe! We’re both, what, 33? LOL! I was sittin’ around thinking the other day about getting old; not something I usually do. The Warden and I were talking about ten or twenty years from now…aging wasn’t even figured into the conversation. Then it hit me and it was a thorough buzz kill. Remember the days of immortality? I do, and it’s kind of a downer. Thanks for the nice compliment on the girl. She is pretty…and I don’t think I’ll ever get used to them young whippersnappers ogling her whenever we’re out and about.

Gator: You are one intuitive motherfucker! That’s EXACTLY why I included the safari photo!

RLB: Holy shit. Look what the cat dragged in! Were you on a spy mission or something? Haven’t seen hide nor hair of you for some time now. Oh, and thanks for rubbing it in, junior! Thanks for the compliment on the girl…and the layout. I’m not sure I like it…but it is a little softer on the eyes than the stark white of the other.

So now I know what you look like AND how old you are. I don't wanna see that link, I feel old enough already.

The pics were really cool, thanks for sharing.
True the days of letting your kids roam are long gone. People have been to lazy to raise the little parasites they shit out, so by the time they're teens they're taking pot shots in public, graffiti on everything, mugging and so on. Those kids should be locked up in jail, instead we have ours locked up in our homes. Something's very wrong.

RLB: Ain’t nothin’ so heinous as a lot of shit. Here’s to hoping your shit is minor, and that you’ll be able to post again!

MissCellania: No, you know what I looked like 11 years ago ;-) You do, however, know how old I am. Don’t blame you for not wanting to check the link!

WebMiz: That’s what scares me! :-) And she’s only 14! Thank you, by the way.

Y: Very, very wrong indeed. It’s a real bummer ain’t it?
