BWI

This week was good. Nothing stellar to report, but that’s okay. Work was good. My cohort at work, Chuck, was traveling this week so the girl who works across the office moved over to Chuck’s desk to keep me company (and because her computer sucks donkey). She’s open minded, a Democrat, and just an all around really nice woman. We did a lot of laughing and had a lot of fun, which is always a plus at work!

ENGLISH ARE FUN
Here’s a post I put on my language blog, It’s Your Damned Language: Strangeness

TONGUE TWISTERS & FUN LIMERICKS
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager
imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?

Five fat friars frying flat fish.

I'm not the fig plucker,
nor the fig pluckers' son,
but I'll pluck figs
Till the fig plucker comes.

The sixth sheik's sixth sheep 's sick.

Elmer Arnold (say this a few times quickly)

A Tudor who tooted the flute
tried to tutor two tooters to toot.
Said the two to the tutor,
"Is it harder to toot or
to tutor two tooters to toot?"

Mrs Puggy Wuggy has a square cut punt.
Not a punt cut square,
Just a square cut punt.
It's round in the stern and blunt in the front.
Mrs Puggy Wuggy has a square cut punt.

I'm a mother pheasant plucker.
I pluck mother pheasants.
I'm the pleasantest mother pheasant plucker,
That ever plucked a mother pheasant.
Actually, ...
I'm Not the pheasant plucker,
I'm the pheasant plucker's son.
But I'll stay and pluck the pheasants
Till the pheasant plucking 's done!

A noise annoys an oyster, but a noisy noise annoys an oyster more!

To begin to toboggan first, buy a toboggan.
But do not buy too big a toboggan!
Too big a toboggan is too big a toboggan to buy to begin to toboggan.

A real rare whale (say a few times quickly)

Terry Teeter, a teeter-totter teacher, taught her daughter Tara to teeter-totter, but Tara Teeter didn't teeter-totter as Terry Teeter taught her to.

Jack's nap sack strap snapped (say a few times quickly)

NOW A FEW FOR THOSE WHO HABLA
With translations

Poquito a poquito Paquito empaca poquitas copitas en pocos paquetes
Little by little, Paquito packs wine glasses in a few boxes

¿Cómo comes como como, si yo como como como?
How do you eat like I eat, if I eat like I eat?

Una cacatrepa trepa tiene tres cacatrepitos
A caterpillar that climbs has three baby caterpillars

Glad your week was good. I agree with Bunny and Early - thanks for sharing the pics.

Those tongue twisters were fun! I can now say: "I'm not the pig flucker, nor the pig flucker's son, but I'll fuck pligs till the pig flucker comes." LOL!

Y: It was a good week. Glad you like the pics. I need to start taking more.

Sheila: Yeah...I like the tongue twisters too. I found a site that has a buttload of them. These were my favorites of the ones I checked.

MissCellania: Thanks!

Okay, I bit my tongue trying really, really hard not to say the "F" word.

Your daughter is sweet. I bet your sweeping the boys off your front door step already. Thankfully, we'll have a few years before that.

The girl is cute...so's her dad...(well, assuming YOU'RE her dad) ;)

Margie: Some of those are pretty hard! As for boys…I shooed one off a few months ago. Typical 14-year-old…plus he had absolutely zero manners.

Jules: As for you….I’m gonna give you the frowning of a lifetime! Thanks dear. Hope everything’s well.
