Merry Monday

GAME TIME

We went to Friday night’s Spurs game. Before the game they introduced a few injured (some badly) troopers from Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). After the introductions came the standing ovation. The AT&T Center wasn’t packed yet, but the ovation was impressive. The tears welling up in my eyes surprised me; not because I’m not a softy at heart, but rather because I hadn’t seen them coming.

Once upon a time, somewhere on a discussion board on this Internet thing, some chick told me it was impossible to support the troops and not the war. Fuck her, wherever she is.

The four of us had fun at the game. I’d snuck a flask of whisky in rather than pay $7.50 for beer, which I don’t usually drink anyway. The Spurs won. The drive home was a tempestuous adventure. The lightning was amazing and the rain kept me from driving over 40mph in some stretches. Jack in the Box was accommodating, even though I got a salad instead of the Sourdough Jack I really wanted.

Saturday we all packed up and went to the flea market. We spent three or so hours buying stuff, drinking beer and eating. It was fun. I grilled chicken fajitas when we got home and The Warden had a few beers with our neighbor.

BIRTHDAY

Your daughter is so pretty! You are in so much trouble!!
Glad you guys had fun at the Spurs game :-) I haven't been to a basketball game in a couple years. Hmmm, sounds like time to buy tickets!

lol! so true.

I had to enlarge the pic of The Girl. I thought her shirt said "Fucked". I was going to say, "I WANT THAT SHIRT!" LOL

I like how you took the picture of the Girl in such a way as to hide the shackles from the viewer, cleaver! At what age does she get to remove them 30 or 34? I wouldn't remove them till at least age 30.
I too support the troops but not the war. The troops over in Iraq are top of the line, the best in the world.
I wish Shrub could realize that and have them back home securing our borders so we don't have to worry about attacks here on our soil. He said our service people can't leave until the Iraqi borders are secure.
Shouldn't our borders be secured?
Oh - and I really hate when I'm on a rant about stupid people breeding and then misspell the word waste, as in "waist of sperm" lol. I can do that, as I have no intentions of breeding.

Peg: I passed The Girl your message. She says thanks! You’re too kind.

Arlene: Thank you! Fortunately she’s got a good head on her shoulders, so I’m not too worried. Just a little…Okay maybe more than a little. :-)

WebMiz: I can so see you wearing a shirt like that!

Bunny – Early: LOL! I agree with your border comments. Makes infinitely more sense to secure our borders. Can you imagine how much good that money we’re spending in the Middle East would have done us if it were applied domestically? Shit. Borders, hunger, poverty…you name it!
