Three Word Wednesday

The rules, if you wanna call 'em that, are
here.
Today's Words: Afford, Cigarette, Dim

Socialization
His dim wit challenged even his most patient coworkers. Poor communication skills, bad breath, and the rancid cigarette smell of his seldom-washed clothes put this man at such an extreme social disadvantage that his boss felt obligated, out of sympathy, to afford him every opportunity to succeed, build his self confidence, and change his persona. He was, after all, their best technician. The boss’s sincere, sympathetic, social experiment failed.

Dimwit was browbeaten relentlessly by some of his coworkers, and one day he simply didn’t show up. No one cared but his boss.

I just found that very deep and thought provoking, there are those who leave a mark and then there are those who leave this world hardly getting noticed!

You sure this dimwit wasn't the bosses (should that be boss's or ...) son and he was just too embarrassed to fess up? ;) Then dimwit went and committed suicide cause work was no different then school, no clique for the dimwit. :)

Woops, sorry, this dimwit should have done her own 3WW.

I can't afford to buy that cigarette, because I'm too bloody dim to have a job that pays worth a crap.

The End.

Very interesting. You said a lot in that short amount.

I think we've all known a dimwit before.

Loved the stated character description of the worker and the unstated, until the end of, of the boss

Thought you used the words wonderfully

Short but great. It's sad but a cold hard truth. There are those who exists in our world but we never take the time to notice. And sometimes, these are the people who were calling out for help but we just ignore them and make fun of them.

Interesting piece. My personal views of bosses are they are typically the most discrimnatory, evil enough to manipulate subjects for their personal gains/experiments.

Deleted previous comment which was not spell checked!

Spell check malfunction in previous comment (again) - 'discriminatory'.

Dimwit? Is it their fault to be one? Shouldn't we all think in that direction?

This actually reminds me of a part-time worker we had a few months ago, except for the expert technician part.

You did a great job of creating some sympathy for the character.

Well done.

It's a shame people still treat someone so badly for being different. I always made a point to befriend people like this because I hated the idea of them hurting. I wish everyone could be more kind. You story, though short, was really good. Keep up the good work.
