It's a Twister! It's a Twister! (Reprise)

No sooner has one storm come and gone, that there’s another on the way. This time it’s tropical storm Edouard. It’s predicted to be a sissy of a storm (category 1), but it’ll still surely wreak havoc inland. Alamoland will get a piece of Edouard Tuesday sometime. Bring it on It was 103 today, with 45% humidity. Me want clouds. Me want rain.

And if anyone cares, Edouard has been overused as a hurricane name over the past 24 years: 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002, 2008. How many Atlantic storms were named Carlos? ZERO! Someone send me the number for the supreme commander of hurricane naming!

Friends
A friend of mine, whom I’ve known since I was eight, sent me a video the other day. I watched it and sent him the following response:

God those guys are geeks! I used to love that song, so what's that say about me?

To which he answered:

Volumes.

Firstly, that you were predisposed to enjoy overly sentimental music in early life, which is almost always a pre-condition of late-onset homosexuality. Secondly, that your true nature, despite enormous amounts of self control on your behalf to effect a masculine appearance, is actually quite feminine, and as such you must, and do in fact, enjoy the psychological makeup of a typical American teenaged girl. God help you, of course this can't be anything but difficult, but help is available if and when you desire it.

Woozie: I think so. They look similar.

Nigel: I stayed dry. Definitely high ;-)

FlyinFox: Cool. I’ll check it out.

AHB: Pretty sad, ain’t it? I can’t believe how retarded Bush is. I really can’t.

Margie: Oh yes I did! And just when I’d purged memories of the song out of my head you go and post that video. Thanks Margie. Thanks a lot ;-)

Hehe, had to do it. Jon's a heavy rocker and was quite appalled at my CD collection when we got together.

The ABBA, Barry Manillo and a few others almost caused him to question my sanity.

But hey, certain songs just bring back memories of that time way back when. Like "Jesse's Girl" by Rick Springfield for instance.

A few of my girlfriends were over and we were jumping on my bed to this song. It crashed and I got my ass reamed for that by my parents.

But oh, it was a lot of fun.

Margie: I know what you mean. I like a lot of that corny dorky stuff because of the memories. I think hormones coursing through teen bodies causes music to be indelibly etched on their brains. Nay (an old high school friend and sometime blogger) is the same way. I like rock, but I do like the dorky stuff because of the memories :-)
