Birthday Weekend

As you know, my birthday was on Thursday.  I took Friday off.  Shelley headed out of town to spend the weekend with her daughter.

Friday I didn't do much of anything.  It's my birthday weekend, after all ;-)   I did a little work around the house, lounged around the house, baked a lemon fucking cake (delicious), and waited for my kids to come by for dinner.  The Girl didn't get out of work until 7:15pm, and they had to stop by the BBQ joint to pick up the chow I'd bought, so they didn't get here until around 8:30pm.  We ate BBQ, talked and caught up.

After food, they gave me the cards they'd got me.  The Girl got me a big fat almond Hershey bar, the card, and a $50 Best Buy gift certificate, which I promptly told her she didn't have to do.  She really didn't.  The Boy got me a silly card and a $50 gift card too. As with Father's Day, I was touched to the core of my heart. 

We watched "The Life of Pi" after chow.  It was a slow movie, considering we were full of pork, beef, turkey, and creamed corn...but we liked it overall.  The Boy left at about 45 minutes after midnight.  The girl stayed the night.  We only lasted about a half hour before we hit the hay.

Saturday The Girl took me out to lunch at the Olive Garden.  It was her treat, which I told her she didn't have to do, but she really wanted to so I let her.  It was a nice lunch and we had a good chat.

I dropped her off after a long lunch and headed home, kinda sad that I don't get to see the kids as much as I'd like to. They're such good kids, and I love them so much.
