Back

Well, I survived the trip to South Dakota. They had a warm snap while I was there: Low 40s on Tuesday; low 50s on Wednesday; low 60s on Thursday. It did get pretty cold at night (and it was right chilly up in the Black Hills), but it wasn’t any colder than it was here a couple of weeks ago. My flight out of Rapid City was canceled, but I go the last fucking seat on another airline! If I wouldn’t have made that, I’d have had to hang around until 6:45pm! Oh, and I got out just in the nick of time: The high on Saturday was supposed to be just under 20 degrees...and windy.

My overall rating of my trip was an 7 out of 10. “For South Dakota? Are you shittin’ me?” I hear you say. No, I’m not. I enjoyed it. There's a lot to see and do; not like to live there for an extended period of time, but a week would be great. Plus, Deadwood has some nice little casinos and restaurants...and the Black Hills are beautiful.

I did a little sightseeing while there, courtesy of a coworker who knew the area. Tuesday we went to Mt. Rushmore; Wednesday we went to Wall, SD; and Thursday we went to Deadwood, which I thought was really cool because I totally dig that HBO series. Here are a couple of pictures. I’ll send links to the rest of you via email…if I have your email address, that is.

This video is pretty informative. Check it out.

I went to Stephens' High School in South Dakota. My baccalaureate was at Mt. Rushmore. I spent many, many weekends in Deadwood getting it on with a hottie. Man, you brought back some mighty fine memories today.

I like the pics. I have always wanted to visit South Dakota - I'm such a Laura Ingalls fan - I would love to go to DeSmet.

Maybe someday lol.

Glad your trip went well!
